A personal finance and savings app designed around building healthy money habits — with a calm, trustworthy visual language that makes finance feel approachable.
Overview
The Challenge
Finance apps often suffer from one of two problems: they're overwhelming (too much data, too many features) or underwhelming (no insight, no motivation). Vault aimed to sit in the middle — simple enough for everyday use, smart enough to actually change behaviour.
The design challenge was to make saving money feel rewarding rather than restrictive, using gentle nudges, clear progress visualisation, and a visual tone that feels warm and trustworthy rather than cold and corporate.

Research
Reviewed existing fintech apps (Monzo, Revolut, Plum) and conducted user interviews about savings habits.
Strategy
Defined core features: savings pots, spending insights, goal tracking, and weekly summaries.
Visual Language
Developed a warm, earthy palette with soft typography to reduce financial anxiety.
UI Design
Polished high-fidelity screens with a focus on data visualisation and empty state design.
