SendIT App
End-to-end product design for SendIT — a mobile app that lets users send money home to Africa quickly, safely, and with full transparency on fees and exchange rates.
Overview
The Challenge
Sending money to family in Africa is often expensive, slow, and stressful — hidden fees, poor exchange rates, and clunky interfaces erode trust at every step. SendIT was designed to fix that: a remittance app built around transparency, speed, and the emotional weight of sending money home.
My role was to design the full mobile experience — from onboarding and KYC verification through to transfer confirmation and transaction history — ensuring every step felt clear, trustworthy, and reassuring.
Process
Design Process
Research
Competitive analysis of Wise, WorldRemit, and Remitly — identifying gaps in trust, fee transparency, and African corridor support.
User Flows
Mapped the core journeys: onboarding & KYC, send money, track transfer, manage recipients.
Prototyping
Iterative prototyping in Figma, testing the send flow with users to reduce drop-off at the fee and rate confirmation step.
UI Design
High-fidelity screens with a component library built for the engineering handoff — including error states and edge cases.
Screens
App Screens
The interface leads with the exchange rate and fees upfront — before the user commits to anything. The send flow is designed to take under 60 seconds for returning users, with saved recipients and one-tap repeat transfers.
